Oak Park police are looking for a gunman who opened fire at a crowded apartment complex pool Monday night. Two people, a 15-year old and a 20-year-old, were shot in the leg. It happened at the Providence Green Apartments on Greenfield Road near I-696. Police said a physical confrontation escalated when the shooter pulled out a weapon.
According to Lieutenant Troy Taylor, the suspect fired several rounds, striking the two innocent victims as they fled the pool area. He says police are in the process of sorting through witnesses.
Police were still investigating the incident and looking for the gunman late Tuesday morning.
Both victims were expected to be okay.
